Integrating & Exporting Data in Bizowie Cloud ERP

At Bizowie, we believe that data portability should be a standard feature of any modern ERP solution.

Data portability means that you own your own data. It belongs to YOU – not your ERP vendor – and you have the ability to export it and access it at any time.

But even more importantly, it also means that you have easy access to export and interact with your data in a wide variety of different ways. In this article, we’ll outline a few of the methods that can be used to interact with your ERP data from both inside and outside the system.

  • In-System Reporting

Bizowie offers a robust built-in interactive reporting system which allows users to filter, sort, and customize their own report views.

Unlike legacy ERP solutions which tend to rely on one-size-fits-all “canned” reports, Bizowie report views can easily be customized by users, allowing them to set up views that make sense for them and their role without impacting co-workers.

  • PDF Exports

Saved Reports can be exported to a PDF file, which is formatted and suitable for printing or emailing directly to stakeholders.

  • Excel & CSV Exports

Saved Reports can also be exported to Excel or CSV files, allowing you to work with the data in Excel or similar spreadsheet software, or to import data into other software. (We recommend using CSV exports for large data extracts, as they support more data than Excel documents and are faster to generate.)

  • Correspondence Templates

Correspondence Templates allow you to create pre-defined templates for printed documents and labels, which can be generated from any document in the system, pre-filled with data from that document.

Any time you generate a document in Bizowie, such as an invoice, purchase order, or shipping label, you are using Correspondence Templates “under the hood”.

Templates are developed using the Template Toolkit scripting language, meaning they can include conditional and advanced logic, custom math, and even make cross-module API calls for advanced data extraction and unique use cases.

  • API Integration

Bizowie’s Application Programming Interface (API) allows system data to be extracted by custom software and scripts in a standardized way. This allows software developers to build custom integrations between Bizowie and third-party or in-house software.

  • ODBC Integration

If you’ve purchased a license for Bizowie’s optional ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) module, you can directly read from your Bizowie Cloud ERP database using SQL queries. This is useful if you’d like to perform data extracts for backup purposes, or if you have an in-house SQL developer who prefers to interact directly with the database.
